SEL City Code: Seoul IATA Airports

SEL identifies the city of Seoul, South Korea, in IATA coding. Airport codes in this dataset for that city: ICN, GMP. A city code is not always the same as an airport code.

Overview

SEL is the IATA city code stored for Seoul, South Korea (KR). City codes group one or more airports. SEL is a metro code covering ICN, GMP. That is different from using a single airport as if it were the city. Airport names stored: ICN Incheon International Airport; GMP Gimpo International Airport. GDS availability and some pricing entries use the city code when the traveller can use any airport in the metro. Ticketed segments still print a specific airport such as JFK rather than NYC. This page does not list every airfield in the metropolitan area, only rows in the catalog. Timezone and ICAO live on each airport page.

How to use this page

  1. Search SEL or Seoul in the city code finder.
  2. Open each airport page for ICAO and timezone.
  3. Parse the actual PNR to see which airport was ticketed.

Example

Example: a client says they fly into SEL. Ask which airport: ICN, GMP. A PNR segment will show one of those airport codes, not always SEL.
